Storm Chasing

Lightning, thunder, oh my!

Why do I chase?

A hot summer afternoon in Phoenix easily reaches 110°+. Having been born and raised here I know the only relief from the brutal heat is from the building clouds in the distance. When we get lucky the storms make their way into the valley with thunder & lightning. When they don't, I go after them.

Since 2010 I have been chasing, photographing, and reporting weather across Arizona. I started just by going around my neighborhood looking for the right spot for the best shot. When I got my car I would go around my city, then across the valley, now all across the state of Arizona from Phoenix, Tucson, and Flagstaff. Recently I have made my first out of state trip to Colorado, Nebraska, Texas & Kansas to photograph supercells.

Currently I am working with fellow Arizona State University student Heather Salfrank who is writing a book about storm chasing set to be complete by May 2017.
